One of the reasons I exercise so much is because I like to eat! I do have a sweet tooth that will not die, there is no denying that. However, I’d never describe myself as a “Foodie” because I think that sounds snobby. I do appreciate homemade food and I admit that I am very anti-chain restaurant. Give me a “Mom & Pop” owned place over a Chilis, 99, Olive Garden or other such place any day.
Here is one of my favorite breakfasts. It tastes really good in these cold winter temps too.
Chocolate Banana Oatmeal: modified from an allrecipes.com recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3 tbs brown sugar
- 1 banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions
- In a saucepan, combine water and oats. Simmer 5 minutes uncovered, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cover, and let stand 3 minutes. Stir in brown sugar, banana and chocolate chips. Serves about 2.
