Stowe Day 2

Day 2 in Stowe Started off with breakfast at The Gables Inn, very good and included in your room rate!

Mia and I share breakfast on the porch at The Gables Inn

After breakfast it was an exploratory ride on the Stowe Recreation Path

5.3 miles of paved path with easy grades and nice views
Views of Mt. Mansfield from the Rec Path
Pretty easy pedaling

After consulting at one of the local bike shops we headed out to Cottonbrook in Moscow, Vermont to ride what the guy called, easy double track/fire roads.

What the bike shop guy did not tell us is that Cottonbrook climbs for 5 miles
Still climbing

After 5 miles of climbing we got to turn off onto a very steep singletrack descent.  Mia wasn’t so pleased with this part of the ride.  Understandably, it was not exactly “beginner friendly”.

After 30 miles of mountain biking, we headed back to Black Cap Coffee for iced coffee and some snacks.  Then it was back to the room to chill out for awhile, sit by the pool, and then shower and go to dinner and see Sweeney Todd at the local playhouse.

Dinner was at Frida’s a local Mexican grill.  The food was awesome, the guacamole was made right at your tableside.  Highly recommend this place to anyone that comes to Stowe.

Go here if you come to Stowe!
Guacamole!

After dinner we headed over to see Sweeney Todd put on by the Stowe Theatre Guild.  It was a decent performance and an entertaining way to spend the evening.

Thus ends day 2 in Stowe…..

Thanks for reading
