I took part in another Uberthons race on Saturday. This one was the Luckython and was held at the Reserve Golf Club, same place as the Halloweenathon, just a different course. I took part in the 10K just like the Halloweenathon too.
The course for this event was on the south side of the golf course compared to the north side for the Halloween event. The weather was pretty decent too. 60ish for temps with intermittent clouds and sun. Little bit of a breeze helped too.
I didn’t set the world on fire and ran about 25 seconds slower compared to the Halloween event, but I really can’t complain. It was fun and I got to push the pace a bit. I needed to get a longer race pace run in before my first duathlon at the end of this month. I’ll be the first to admit I may have gone out a bit too hard the first 5K. Since it was a 2 lap run for me I got to compare and my first 5K was 7:01 pace for a 21:45, 2nd lap was a 7:55 pace for 24:33, total was 7:28 pace and 46:18. Needless to say, I should have taken the first lap a bit calmer.

This was my first race I actually remembered to bring my calf compression sleeves. I’ve had a few “twinges” in my calves during some longer runs and wanted to see if the compression made a difference. It seemed to help, but it could have all been in my head too.
