Mellow

It was a fairly mellow weekend.  New tires on the car, walking the dog and watching football about sums it up.  Turned out we didn’t need to be too nervous for the Patriots vs. Chiefs game,  it wasn’t nearly as close as I thought it would be.  The game of the weekend has to go to the Packers vs Cardinals though.  That was highly entertaining to watch!

I had work off for MLK Day, so it was nice to sleep in a bit and then Codi and I went on a long walk in some intermittent sunshine(!!)  Followed that up with a 30 mile bike ride.  It was very nice to get out with no rain, no wind, and even a few sun breaks!

Thick clouds out near the Coast Range

I wasn’t the only one with the day off either.  I must have seen at least 20 cyclists also out and getting in some early season miles.

I really love to ride my bike.  This past fall, as I was coming into the last 4-6 weeks of my half marathon training, all I really wanted to do was ride my bikes.  Running is a great way to get in a quick workout, but it just doesn’t “do it” for me like riding my bike.  I’ll generally choose running a treadmill over riding an indoor trainer, but anytime the weather is even close to  being decent, I am going to grab something with two wheels and head out.

Not bad for a January day

The other part of a quiet and mellow day is hanging out with the pets.  No matter what kind of day you are having, they are always happy to see you.  Cats are easy, but man getting Codi last year has added a whole different dynamic.

Not sure why he is so mad at his blanket

Caleb on the other hand just wants to steal your body heat, or at least the spot you were sitting a moment ago.

On top of dog walking and football, I also sold my Salsa Fargo this weekend.  I also recently sold my Trek Speed Concept too.  I’ve got a new bike in the plans, and it should be here in a week or so.

That’s about it for now

Thanks for reading,
