A Winter Project

I’ve finally given up on the idea of a 29er, more specifically my Cannondale F29.  It is a great bike, but I was just tired of playing around with the fit and what I saw as the limitations of being a short guy on a 29er.  I totally dig the lefty forks and still have my full suspension 2oo6 Rush (set up with 650b wheels).  However it is time to try something different.

Lucky for me Ritchey was having a 20% off sale on all their frames over Thanksgiving weekend.  I took the opportunity to snag one of their P-650b frames for what I thought was a great price.  I stripped down the Cannondale and have started  building up the new frame.  I need new wheels, which will be my hardest decision.  I am leaning towards good old trustworthy XT hubs on Stan’s Crest rims.  I’ve got until about late February to figure it out though.

Trying an oval chainring on this build

We also picked up our Christmas tree  for this year.  We hit up the same place as the past 3 years….C.W. Baggenstos out off of Dairy Creek Rd.  They drive you out to the trees via an old John Deere tractor and a hay wagon which just adds to the whole experience.
