So Much Better

And just like that the weather turned and outdoor fun has been a constant thing lately.

Alpaca Trek
Mia’s birthday gift

Bike rides (lots of bike rides), a little running, walking some alpaca and even a camping trip have all been on the menu since our April trip to Sisters.

Mia had her birthday recently and I really wanted to surprise her with something a bit different. She has a thing for alpacas, so I started doing a little research and found Wings and a Prayer Alpaca in Amity, OR that we have driven by a few dozen times. They offer a “meet & greet” with their alpaca and then you get to take them for a short hike on their 50-acre property. It was fun to learn about them and get nice and up close with these gentle creatures. If you are looking for something a bit different and not outrageously expensive this was a nice way to spend a couple hours.

Great Pyrenees puppies too!!!!

Mia, Codi and I also got out for a weekend trip to Timothy Lake. I booked this trip back in December to make sure we could get a site. The weather in June could have been wet, chilly and miserable. We however enjoyed absolutely stunning conditions with temps in the mid 70’s and clear sky all around. Really couldn’t have asked for a better weekend weatherwise.

The “fun season” is in full swing. More camping trips, a week long bike trip and finally a return to the North Cascades all await in the next few months. I cannot wait!

Thanks for reading,

I’ve only camped at Timothy Lake once, but it was on the “wild” side and by bike. Have you been on that side?

Hiked the whole loop 4-5 times now. Tried to stay at one of the walk-in sites during a bike trip a few years ago but ended up at Little Crater Lake because they were all taken.
