We’re on day one of our vacation and some friends of ours were gracious enough to let us stay at their lake house on Northwood Lake. Severe storms in the northeast delayed our departure from the northwest by about 90 minutes. This meant that we had a quick reminder to the quiet NH way of life, everything closes after 9pm. After getting baggage and picking up the rental car we weren’t on the road from Logan until well after 9:30PM, this had us hitting the NH border just around 10PM which meant no restaurants were open. We had to opt for a Wendy’s. Eating at fast food establishment like that goes against every fiber of my being, but beggars can’t be choosers. Heck, in our minds it was only like 7pm which is around our normal dining time anyways.
We finally got to Northwood Lake around 12:30 AM and it was lights out not long after.
So far today, other than picking up some groceries I’ve been reading down near the dock. I could get used to this real quick!

Going to owe Daryl and Lydia BIG time for this one.
