Sure Beats Being at Work

For the most part the weather gods played nice this weekend.  Last week’s snow covered trails at Stub Stewart where a mixed bag of snow and mud this weekend.  The parking lot was pretty full by the time I arrived around 1pm.  Looked like people were mostly hitting up the disc golf course from what I saw.  I only ran into a couple other cyclists on the trails  Those without 4″ tires had a much harder time on some of the trails.

What a difference one week makes

Monday Bogie and I got together for a gravel ride.   The partly sunny early morning conditions turned into clouds and fog, keeping temps from rising to where they had originally forecasted.

Also finally took a little side trip to check out Hayward Cemetery.  I’m kind of fascinated by old cemeteries in the middle of nowhere.  We used to have a couple great options during bike rides in New Hampshire.   One up on Plymouth Mountain with a few stones dating back to revolutionary war times and then smack dab in the middle of Bear Brook State Park was the Leavitt Cemetery with some old headstones too.

That was about it for my three day weekend.  Glad to get outside for a bit an play around.  I’ve got a “rest week” coming up for training purposes.  Time to give the legs a little recovery time.

Thanks for reading,

-Pete
