Inspired by this post over at Running Escapades.
Mia wanted to do between 30-35 miles today. So once the temps read 40 we got our butts in gear and headed out the door. Ended up doing what we refer to as the Pat and Danielle Loop since it heads out by some friends of ours who live in Warner.
Any time exercise goes over 1.5 hours you need to bring food with you. We discovered the Honey Stinger Waffles 1-2 years ago, and they have quickly become my favorite riding food for those longer days. They taste like “real” food, do not become rock solid in cold temps, come in several flavors, and as is important to some people, they are certified organic.
I like all the flavors, but the vanilla and plain are probably my first choices. The company just announced a chocolate waffle coming soon, so that may take the top spot really fast.

They look kind of like they were made in a pizzelle maker.

Seriously, if you use powerbars, Larabars, Heed, etc, just give the Honey Stinger Waffles a try. You will probably not want to go back to anything else.
And as far as the ride goes, we did just over 36 miles, then I got to finally take the Trek Speed Concept 7.0 out for a 30 minute ride. I wasn’t too far off on fitting that thing indoors. Now I just need to spend some quality time riding it and doing the final dialing in.
One last note….Honey Stinger make a full line of tasty energy gels too.
Thanks for reading.
