COVID-19 Wk 39.5: Vaccine

I’m a bit behind on posting something about week 39 of Covid-19 and 2020 in general. Been extremely mellow this past week.

Christmas baking
Mia’s annual baking marathon

Mia spent a good chunk of Sunday doing her annual Christmas baking. We’ve got a plethora of sweets to choose from in the house right now.

  • Carmelita Bars
  • Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies
  • Kissed Pretzels
  • Whoopie Pies
  • Coconut Macaroons
  • Ginger Cookies

I think that covers it.

The COVID-19 vaccines have started to trickle into Oregon this week too. It will be interesting to see how distribution goes. I totally 100% agree that healthcare workers need to be the first to get it. I’m hoping police and firefighters are next in line. Then the great debate starts. Personally I think important workers like food production/distribution need to be up there. Same goes for sanitation workers and public works crews. I admit being a government employee I have a bias. Police and fire are quite visible and I don’t think anyone will argue their importance. The guys and gals that keep your water, sewer, street lights, etc going should be high on the list too. Nobody really notices them unless a water main breaks in your neighborhood in the middle of the night. How about every time you turn on your faucet or flush your toilet. You don’t want that infrastructure compromised.

So that’s about it for now. I hope we can all see that there is some light at the end of the tunnel now. While the vaccine isn’t a magic shot that will cure things overnight it is a HUGE step in the right direction.

Thanks for reading,

-Pete
